I can help you get your recording space set up working to your budget so we can get you sounding great.
We will source your equipment, design your studio and acoustically treat it so it's a comfortable space to work in that sounds great.
More importantly, I'll make sure you don't waste money on things you absolutely don't need.

demo reel service
We'll work together to produce the best demo reels for your voiceover reel.
After an initial consultation call, I will tailor 6 varied scripts that are most suited to your voice.
We will then have an unhurried session where I will direct you until it's sounding perfect.
Then I'll mix and master the reel and supply final files to you.
Or we can work on an audiobook narration reel for you to showcase your set of skills determined after a free consultation call.
Again, we can have an unhurried session and will record 3 excerpts from 3 different audiobooks that we can source together and get you comfortable with.
Reels can be recorded either in my Essex home studio half an hour from London, or remotely (providing your studio is high quality and we can establish a remote connection via Source Connect or Source Nexus.
If we do a remote session, I will deal with all the audio after the session and sweeten it up so it sounds great!

My Audiobook Narration Masterclass is like no other on the market. I cover everything from the technical side of audiobook production, to teaching you how to bring a book to life, to actually finding the work.
I’ll guide you through the creative, technical and practical skills needed to produce professional-quality audiobooks. You'll learn how to bring stories to life through compelling characterisation, master pacing and performance across different genres, develop efficient recording techniques, and understand everything from punch-and-roll and pickups to editing, mastering and publisher deliverables.

*For this course, it would be useful to have a basic understanding of Pro Tools, but if not, I also offer a DAW training module to get you up to speed.

the dossier
This is my pièce de résistance as it were, and is designed for those that are serious about starting a career in voiceover work or taking their career to the next level. It's a full course based on my book The Voiceover Dossier that will systematically teach you everything you need to know to set yourself up for a career in voiceover work and audiobook narration. The course is structured for complete beginners, so you will be carefully guided through each step.
It comes in 3 modules and is structured in 15 x 1 hour online sessions which can be scheduled to your convenience. We will be working on Pro Tools, which is my DAW of choice for very good reasons which you will find out about during the course. You can download a free version HERE.
Module 1
(4 x 1 hr sessions)
This is where we all start. In this module we will be starting from scratch, which includes:

Sourcing your studio equipment to suit your budget.

Learning how to acoustically treat your recording space.

Setting up your studio and turning it into a comfortable working environment, including setting up your DAW with recording templates.

Navigating Pro Tools, learning about recording, editing and mastering, including about noise reduction tools.

Finding out what audio tools you need and what they all do, plus more importantly what you don't need.

Learning about file deliverables and what they mean.
Module 3
(3 x 1hr sessions)
In the final module I will teach you about audiobook narration, including showing you ways in which you'll be able to hunt down work.
Within these sessions, you'll learn:

How to record, edit and master your audiobook to ACX specs

How to tackle pick-ups and corrections for different publishers/clients

An important part of this job is getting to grips with the technology, which can be extremely daunting.
With this service, I can teach you how to record, edit and master audio on the DAW Pro Tools, which will set you up to get your auditions and voiceover jobs out the door sounding great.
Within these sessions, you'll learn:

How to confidently navigate the edit window in Pro Tools

How to record, edit and master audio

How to record to picture and sync your audio.

How to confidently use noise reduction tools

How to use and understand mastering tools such as EQ, compressor, limiter and meters

How to identify faults when things go wrong.

remote recording session workshop
Arguably, one of the most important areas of this job is being able to confidently run a remote session with clients on the line.
99% of my voiceover work comes in the guise of a remote session. In this online course, you will learn:

How to set up a remote recording session in Pro Tools.

How to deal with clients on the line and make sure everyone can hear each other.

How to deal with take playbacks and arranging your session so that you can playback takes when required.

How to use Source Connect 4 in conjunction with Pro Tools.

How to monitor multiple comms devices such as MS Teams, Google Meet, Zoom and Source Connect all at the same time.
This package will include live sessions together to really get you up to speed, so that you'll feel super confident running and engineering your own voiceover session.
